Rick and Donna met at Point Loma College while traveling in a musical singing group in 1978. They were married in 1982 after graduating from college.

Rick studied Piano extensively and performed in several public concerts while in college. He began his ministry as a music minister , while attending and graduating from Fuller Theological Seminary in 1987. That same year he was called to be the pastor of Lone Pine Church of the Nazarene in the high desert of California (1987-1993), then pastored in Lancaster California from 1993-2000. In 2001, Rick was called to pastor and begin his ministry at Santa Rosa Nazarene Church, where he and Donna have been faithfully serving and ministering through leading worship, hosting small groups in their home, and shared preaching for 25 years. Rick enjoys reading and exercising whenever he gets a chance, and he is an avid sports fan.

Donna, who was ordained as a pastor in May, 2022, studied to be an RN. She has worked as an RN for public schools, primarily with children with disabilities and their families for 35 years. She has just recently retired from that profession and has quickly filled that time with deeper ministry opportunities (Prayer Counselor, Discipleship, and Preaching), gardening, sewing, and crafting nourishing foods. 

Together, Rick and Donna have four grown children and 11 grandchildren, in which they take great delight. As pastors called to serve in Santa Rosa, they are passionate about "making disciples who will make disciples". They believe that the Word of God has full authority and our best life is lived in rhythm with the Kingdom of God.
